How Meet Your Match (MYM) Speed Dating works!

 

Usually an equal amount of men and woman meet in a safe and comfortable location, including hotels like The Abel Tasman in Launceston and the Australian Italian Club in Hobart.

 

The ladies are seated on allocated tables ready to meet their dates. The gentlemen join each of the ladies one-on-one, and with a ring of the bell, the Speed Dating is underway! Each couple receives only 6 minutes to talk on each individual date! Once the bell rings, the men must stand and move along and be seated again to meet their next date of the night. This process runs for the rest of the dating period, with the nibble break about half way through.

 

It may pay to have a few pre-defined questions to ask or some positive interests you’d like to talk about, or… you can just try and wing it!

 

Match cards are used throughout the night whereby you keep track of whom you’d like to meet again external to the MYM event. You simply write down each of your date’s names and tick a ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ checkbox. These cards are then handed to myself at the end of your last date, so it may be wise to mark these progressively as each dater moves along.

 

The following day I ascertain the mutual matches and send each of the matching participants (via text or email) the other’s authorised contact information. Any participant unsuccessful with a particular match, will still receive a results notification. Please note that participant contact details are only passed on by a confirmed match whereby both individuals have ticked ‘YES’ to each other.

The night usually concludes around 9:30PM but remember there is plenty of time to mingle before, during and after the event as most participants decide to continue the night out as a social group.
